Service Areas

McGuire Earth Works has built landscapes across the greater Sacramento region since 1980, starting from our shop on Greenback Ln in Orangevale. The land changes as you move away from home base, and so does the work. Soil, slope, and water all shift across the local soils, climate, and watersheds tracked by the USDA NRCS in California, so we plan every project around the ground it sits on, not a one size fits all approach.

How We Cover the Region

We are based in Orangevale, and everything we build starts from there.

Home Base: Orangevale

Orangevale is where McGuire Earth Works has worked since 1980. Our shop sits on Greenback Ln, and most of our crew's routes start and end within a few miles of it. For the full range of what we build, visit our page as an Orangevale landscaper.

Right Next Door: Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, and Folsom

These three cities sit within about 4 miles of our shop, a 5 to 10 minute drive on a normal day. We work here almost as often as we work in Orangevale itself, and the ground is nearly the same: clay loam soil that holds water in winter and bakes hard in summer. Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, and Folsom each have their own page if you want to see city specific work.

A Short Drive: Granite Bay, Roseville, Rancho Cordova, El Dorado Hills, and Rocklin

These five cities sit 6 to 10 miles out, about 10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. The soil starts to change here, shifting from valley clay toward the rockier, faster draining ground closer to the foothills. That shift changes how we plan grading, drainage, and retaining walls, so a plan built for Roseville is not always the plan we would use in Orangevale. Granite Bay, Rancho Cordova, El Dorado Hills, and Rocklin round out this group.

Worth the Trip: Lincoln, Auburn, and Elk Grove

Lincoln, Auburn, and Elk Grove sit 15 to 20 miles from our shop, far enough that we plan these projects a little differently, usually with fewer, longer site visits instead of frequent short ones. Auburn in particular sits higher up with rockier, more decomposed granite soil than anything we see in Orangevale, which changes how foundations and walls get built. We still bring the same crew and the same process to every one of these projects.

Farther Out: Fairfield

Fairfield sits much farther out, about 50 miles from our shop, in a different part of the region entirely. We still take on select projects there. If you are in Fairfield, call us and we can talk through timing and scheduling before anything is scheduled.

Cities We Serve

One Crew, Every Address

No matter how far the drive, the same crew handles your project from the first site visit to the final walkthrough. We do not hand off distant jobs to subcontractors or a second team. McGuire Earth Works has worked across this region since 1980, and we plan every project, near or far, around the same standard. Plan it right. Build it once. Stand behind it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far will McGuire Earth Works travel for a project?+

We take on projects across Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado counties, from Orangevale out to cities like Auburn, Lincoln, and Elk Grove. Closer cities like Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, and Folsom see us almost as often as Orangevale itself. For cities farther out, we plan the visit schedule a little differently, but the same crew and the same process apply everywhere we go. If you are not sure whether your address is in range, just call and ask.

Does distance change how you handle a project?+

The plan changes with the land, not with the mileage. Soil, slope, and drainage shift the farther you get from Orangevale, especially toward the foothill cities like Auburn and El Dorado Hills, so we adjust grading and wall design to match the ground. What never changes is the crew. The same team designs and builds your project from the first estimate to the final walkthrough, no matter which city you are in.

Which cities have their own dedicated pages?+

Several cities across the region have a dedicated page with local details, including Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Granite Bay, Roseville, Rancho Cordova, El Dorado Hills, Rocklin, Lincoln, Auburn, Elk Grove, and Fairfield, plus Orangevale itself as our home base. Each page covers what that city's yards typically deal with and how we approach them. You can find links to all of them on this page.
